Punch Clocks at the daycare

Important changes to the Punch clock system
In order to facilitate the task of controlling the actual amount of time of care given to each child, the administration of Canaries Daycare (after having a favorable consultation with the Parent’s Advisory Committee) has decided that, effective Monday, November 27th, 2006 the Punching of the cards will become the responsibility of the educators, and no longer of the parents.

For the sake of clarity, we would like the parents to know that time of care starts the moment the child enters the classroom and ends the moment the child exits the classroom.

To that end, we have installed 5 new punch clocks in the daycare, one in each classroom, and the educators will, in your presence, punch the time the child entered the class in the morning and the time the child exited the class in the evening.

We would also like to remind you that, as per the Regulation on Reduced Contribution, you are entitled to 10 hours of continuous childcare service for the reduced contribution of $7.  Any time in excess of these ten hours and/or in excess of the schedule you have indicated in your Daycare Agreement and/or outside the opening hours of the Daycare is subject to a $12 per hour late fee (charged from the first minute).

We would also like to remind you that the punch clock cards are tallied by the computer, and will not give any grace period when exceeding the 10 hours allotted.  Also please note that you are responsible to make sure the educator accurately punches your card at arrival and departure.

Any form of abuse, (ie late punching, procrastination, rushing etc) are considered viable grounds to cancel your contract.  We ask that all parents cooperate with this procedure, as it is for the benefit of the good administration of the daycare.
