Urgent Memo!

Tuesday, November-18-08

Dear parents,

Today we had an auto theft occur at the daycare. One of our parents left her car unattended and ignited with the keys in place to enter the daycare for a short moment to leave her child. Not five minutes later, the parent returned outside to find that her car had disappeared. The parent left several personal items in the car, including her purse and her money and her credit cards.

It is essential that we undertake special measures to prevent this kind of incident from occurring again. We ask that all parent s cooperate in the following elements:

  1. When you come into the parking lot, please park in a designated parking area, where our closed circuit camera system sees the cars in question.
  2. Turn off your vehicle, and lock all parts of it, including doors, windows and the trunk.
  3. If you want to keep your car warm, use your remote started, but under no circumstances should you leave the car keys on the switch.
  4. Remove all purses and wallets and bring them in with you.
  5. Remove all GPS, Cell phones, or other technologies which may become a temptation to a thief.
  6. NEVER, but NEVER LEAVE YOUR CHILD UNATTENDED INSIDE THE CAR. Here you are taking two big risks, one to have your car stolen, but worse than that, to have your child kidnapped with the stolen car.

For everyone’s security, we kindly ask that you follow these basic rules of parking etiquette.

Thank you
